Mountain biking in the Valmasque

I don't know what's happening to me, but it seems like I'm getting infected by my colleagues sportiness - if you can believe it. Not only do I get up 6:30 at least twice a week to have a swim in the sea before heading into the office, I've also started some serious mountain biking. Well, semi-serious, based on my colleagues opinion.... (they reckon I'm still a bit of an amateur...)

We head off to the nearby Valmasque park on lunch time to cycle - pretty much the perfect spot to start off for a newbie like me. Not to steep runs (well, steep enough for me!), and the trees provide some very welcome shade on sunny days.

On this particular day, I headed out with Philippe, Julien and Michel - and our company's GoPro! Unfortunately, Julien had to call it quits early off in the run due to a broken bike suspension. As for the rest of the ride, it was good fun as always - and VERY good exercise... And I had a mere 9000 GoPro pictures as documentary evidence of the trip! (I really do need to learn how to best operate the GoPro, unless I want to spend half of my time sorting through pictures....)

Hi Teemu,
I've been reading your blog on and off since a couple of years now, but only realised now that your mother has passed. Just wanted to say how very, very sorry I am to hear that !!! Warmest condolonces also to your Dad in what is the toughest time in his and your lives right now. I remember when my father died in 2007, and how very hard the time was.
The reason I found your blog was that I studied in Helsinki in the 90's, lived there a couple of years, and married a Finniosh girl before moving back to Saksa.
Anyway, all the best to you.
From the pics you shared seems like your Mum had a great life !!!
Best regards,
Markus.Pfeiffer@ymail.com
