Our good friend Naim has been running an international meetup group for quite some time. The basic idea is to get together a group of like-minded people from various corners around the world, and meet up every few weeks for networking, and just hanging out.
I find the concept quite interesting, and since I do occasionally miss the cosmopolitan atmosphere we enjoyed when we lived in the UK, I decided to try it out this particular Thursday evening. We met up at the hotel bar in Boscolo Plaza. All in all, it was a pretty interesting night out, with a cool mix of people from all corners of the world – although Anglo-Saxons did somewhat dominate. There was even a fellow Finn there!
After a few fortifying drinks at the hotel bar, we made our way to Villa d'Este to fill our stomachs – and fill them we did (Villa d'Este is well known for the generous size of its pasta portions...). A dutch lady was kind enough to take me home – which was rather fortunate since SNCF decided to go on strike this particular day...
Thanks to Naim for organizing this – hope you keep up the tradition!
